Extend Gala 2022
On December 11th, 2022, Extend hosted our Third Annual Gala: Together Against Extremism. As Israel inaugurated an extreme right-wing government that stands for racism and occupation, we gathered to celebrate and support Jews and Palestinians fighting for democracy and human rights. We heard from grassroots activists Awdah Hathaleen in the South Hebron Hills, Sally Abed of Standing Together, and Ahmad Muna from the Palestine Educational Bookshop in Jerusalem. Author Fida Jiryis joined us from Ramallah to discuss her new book Stranger in My Own Land.
Extend Gala 2021
On December 5th, 2021, Extend hosted our Second Annual Gala. We heard from journalist Basel Adraa about the active expulsion of Palestinians from the Masafer Yatta region of the West Bank, from Nobel Peace Prize Nominees Souli Khatib and Chen Alon about what led them to co-found Combatants for Peace, and Congressman Jamaal Bowman about his recent trip to Israel-Palestine and what he witnessed in Hebron.
Extend Gala 2020
On December 6th, 2020, Extend hosted our First Annual Gala, How We Change: A Celebration of the Possible. In the isolating times of the Covid pandemic, we came together to celebrate the change that is possible when we encounter injustice and choose to become voices of resistance. We heard from journalist Peter Beinart, novelist Colum McCann, J Street Founder Jeremy Ben Ami and Jewish Voice for Peace leader Rebecca Vilkomerson, as well as leading Palestinian and Israeli human rights activists from the ground.
