Overview
Since 2013, Extend has offered more than 55 programs to 750+ participants. Our alumni have gone on to leading roles with J Street U, the New Israel Fund, If Not Now, and Open Hillel, as well as work on Capitol Hill and at the State Department.
You can learn about the remarkable work of our alumni in our 2018 Report, Educating Ourselves: Five Years with Extend. Our report profiles eight young American Jews whose Extend experience shaped their work as emerging journalists, rabbis, policymakers, and civil society leaders.
About
While Birthright and other well-funded American Jewish organizations have chosen to ignore Palestinian voices and the lives of Palestinians under Israeli military occupation, Extend has filled the critical need to introduce young American Jews to Israeli and Palestinian leaders who share their values. That’s why Extend has been endorsed by key American, Israeli, and Palestinian leaders: thinkers like Peter Beinart and Gideon Levy, progressive Israeli leaders such as Breaking the Silence director Avner Gvaryahu and Member of Knesset Mossi Raz, and leaders of the Palestinian human rights movement such as Issa Amro and Combatants for Peace co-founder Souli Khatib.
